About the Position
We're looking for someone who loves dogs but REALLY loves cleaning!
We're seeking a dependable, hardworking Kennel Technician who takes genuine pride in creating a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming environment.
This is a hands-on, physically active position that combines daily dog care with extensive cleaning and facility maintenance. You'll be responsible for ensuring our kennels, training areas, and shared spaces are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and ready for the next day.
While you'll have opportunities to interact with and care for dogs, a significant portion of this position involves cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining our facility. We're looking for someone who enjoys that work, notices the little details, and finds satisfaction in a job done exceptionally well.
If you're someone who sees a mess and takes care of it without being asked, we'd love to meet you!
Key Responsibilities
Facility Cleaning & Maintenance
Deep clean and sanitize kennels, floors, walls, and designated training areas.
Clean and maintain indoor and outdoor spaces, including common areas and equipment.
Remove waste, manage trash, and maintain a clean, odor-controlled environment.
Restock supplies and ensure cleaning tools and equipment are properly maintained.
Follow established cleaning procedures and sanitation protocols.
Identify maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or areas needing additional attention.
Take initiative to keep the facility clean, organized, and prepared for the following day.
Dog Care & Safety
Assist with feeding, watering, potty breaks, and general daily care as assigned.
Safely move and handle dogs according to established procedures and individual handling instructions.
Monitor dogs for changes in behavior, health, or overall well-being, and promptly communicate concerns.
Maintain a calm, structured, and safe environment for the dogs in our care.
Follow all safety procedures and respect handling restrictions for dogs with behavioral challenges.
Assist trainers and other team members with appropriate dog-care tasks as needed.
Teamwork & Communication
Communicate clearly with trainers and leadership about completed tasks, concerns, and facility needs.
Take ownership of responsibilities and follow through without constant supervision.
Be receptive to feedback and willing to adjust when priorities change.
Help identify opportunities to improve cleaning routines, organization, and daily efficiency.
Contribute to a positive, supportive team environment where everyone works toward the same goal.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate:
Genuinely enjoys cleaning and takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards.
Loves dogs and is committed to their safety and well-being.
Is reliable, punctual, and consistent.
Has excellent attention to detail and doesn't cut corners.
Is self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Takes accountability for mistakes and uses feedback to improve.
Communicates clearly and professionally.
Can adapt to changing priorities and remain productive in a busy environment.
Is comfortable with physically demanding work, including standing, bending, scrubbing, lifting, and working indoors and outdoors, despite weather conditions.
Understands that every task matters, whether it's caring for a dog, cleaning a kennel, or organizing supplies.
Previous experience working with dogs, in animal care, kennel environments, professional cleaning, or facility maintenance is a plus, but a strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn are essential.
